The ISCAR 6403649 is a solid carbide corner radius boring bar designed for internal turning and precision bore finishing operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.1181 inches (3.00 mm) and a maximum bore depth of 0.551 inches, this bar handles tight, small-diameter bores where rigidity and tool life are critical. The 0.0039 inch corner radius produces a controlled, repeatable surface finish at the bore wall transition. An overall length of 1.1417 inches and a 4.00 mm shank diameter make this a compact tooling solution suited for close-tolerance work. Manufactured to ISCAR grade IC228 with a dual TiCN and TiN finish coating for extended wear resistance.
This boring bar is intended for small-bore internal machining applications in precision manufacturing environments including aerospace, medical device, and general metalworking shops. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC lathe setups. It is well-suited for through-bore and blind-bore finishing passes where minimum bore size and corner radius geometry are specified by the workpiece drawing. Machinists and CNC programmers working with small-diameter bores will find the 3.00 mm minimum bore capability applicable to a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per your facility lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the shank firmly in the appropriate boring bar holder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping method before operation. Verify runout and tool offset data in the machine controller before initiating a cutting pass. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 0.551 inches, as overhang beyond the rated depth increases deflection risk and may cause tool breakage.
