The ISCAR 6403070 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for internal diameter boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It cuts in a right-hand direction and handles a minimum bore diameter of 0.5906 inches (15.00 mm) with a maximum bore depth of 0.7874 inches (20.00 mm). The overall length is 1.378 inches (35.00 mm) and the shank diameter is 7.00 mm. The bar carries a TiCN and TiN finish coating and is manufactured to ISCAR grade IC228, a submicron carbide grade suited for fine boring in steel and cast iron. This tool is installed and set up by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in precision machining environments.
This boring bar is intended for small-bore internal turning applications in production and job-shop settings. Its compact overall length and 7.00 mm shank make it well suited for tight bore geometries on small turned parts. The solid carbide construction provides the rigidity needed to hold tight tolerances in short-reach boring setups. Typical applications include finish boring of through-holes and blind bores in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where dimensional accuracy is critical.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide boring bar for use in standard boring bar holders and tooling blocks accepting a 7.00 mm shank diameter on CNC lathes and turning centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing tooling. Ensure the shank seating surface and holder bore are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the machine tool and toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedures — do not exceed the holder's specified clamping force.
