The ISCAR 6402686 is a solid carbide chamfering boring bar designed for internal chamfering and small-bore machining operations. Built from solid carbide with a TiCN and TiN finish coating, it delivers wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding cutting environments. The bar has a minimum bore diameter of 0.0787 inches (2.00 mm) and a maximum bore depth of 0.5512 inches (14.00 mm), making it suited for tight, shallow internal features. A 0.002-inch corner radius and right-hand cutting direction define its geometry. It carries ISCAR manufacturer grade IC228, which is optimized for a range of workpiece materials encountered in precision machining. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the typical end users.
This chamfering boring bar is used in CNC turning centers and manual lathes where internal chamfers or countersinks must be machined in small-diameter bores. Its 0.0787-inch minimum bore capacity makes it applicable to fine-detail work in components such as hydraulic fittings, precision housings, and instrumentation parts. The 4.00 mm shank diameter fits standard small-bore toolholders and quick-change systems. At an overall length of 1.1417 inches (29.00 mm), the bar is compact and suited for short-reach applications. It is sold individually and is a direct replacement or replenishment unit for production tooling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production tooling unit for small-bore chamfering applications using toolholders that accept a 4.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and all axes at a safe position. Ensure the toolholder bore and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 0.5512 inches to avoid tool deflection or breakage. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting cutting parameters.
