The ISCAR 6200376 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Heliface series, designed for precision external grooving and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the HFPR6004 insert style designation with manufacturer grade IC8250 and an Al2O3 PVD coating for extended tool life in demanding cuts. The insert delivers a 6 mm cutting width with a maximum depth of cut of 3 mm, a positive rake angle of 7 degrees, and a 0.40 mm corner radius. It is a double-end insert, right-hand orientation, held in place by a clamp-style toolholder. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments install this insert as a direct replacement consumable.
This insert is engineered for cutting stainless steel and steel workpiece materials, making it well suited for applications requiring a stable, wear-resistant edge in tough or abrasive materials. The Heliface series is designed for face grooving and similar operations where controlled chip formation and consistent groove geometry are critical. It is commonly used in high-volume turning operations where repeatable groove dimensions and surface finish must be maintained across a production run. The IC8250 grade with PVD Al2O3 coating provides thermal resistance and edge retention under the elevated cutting temperatures associated with stainless steel machining.
Designed for use in ISCAR Heliface series clamp-style toolholders that accept the HFPR6004 insert size. Intended for right-hand grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers machining stainless steel and steel workpieces.
This insert is installed and replaced by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the toolholder pocket and confirm the clamp is secure before resuming any cutting operation. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before installing a replacement insert to ensure proper seating and groove accuracy.
