The ISCAR 6200084 is a solid carbide grooving insert from the Heliface series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. This right-hand insert carries the IC428 manufacturer grade and features a CVD-applied Al2O3 and TiC coating, making it well suited for cutting cast iron, hardened materials, and steel. The cutting width is 6 mm (0.2362 inches) with a maximum depth of cut of 3 mm (0.1181 inches). The positive rake angle of 7 degrees and double-end configuration contribute to efficient chip control and extended tool life in production environments. Machinists and CNC operators handling moderate-to-high volume turning work will find this insert a dependable grooving solution.
This insert fits within the Heliface series tooling system and is intended for use on turning centers performing grooving operations in cast iron, steel, and hard materials. It is sold as an individual insert with a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for shop floor replenishment and production stocking. The double-end design allows both ends to be used before replacement, improving cost efficiency in continuous production runs. Applications include external grooving on ferrous workpieces where a consistent groove width and controlled depth are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for ISCAR Heliface series grooving toolholders that accept the HFPR insert style in size code 6004. Confirm toolholder pocket specifications before ordering.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert-seating tool specified for the Heliface toolholder to avoid seat damage or insert cracking. Inspect the pocket seat for debris or wear before seating the new insert. Always verify cutting parameters against the workpiece material grade before resuming operations.
