The ISCAR 6200068 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Heliface series, designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert carries grade IC354 with a TiCN coating applied via PVD process, delivering wear resistance suited for stainless steel and general steel workpieces. It features a 3 mm cutting width, a maximum depth of cut of 1.5 mm, and a full corner radius of 1.5 mm. The positive rake angle of 7 degrees promotes free cutting and reduced cutting forces. Machinists and toolroom technicians working to ISO 13399 tooling standards will find this insert ready for direct data integration with tool management systems.
This insert is intended for right-hand grooving applications on turning equipment processing stainless steel (ISO material code M) and carbon or alloy steel (ISO material code P). The double-end design provides two usable cutting edges per insert, extending tool life between changeovers. It is commonly installed in Heliface-series toolholders sized for the 3015 insert geometry. Typical use cases include shallow profile grooving, face grooving, and light parting cuts in both production and job-shop turning environments where tight groove width tolerances are required.
Designed for use in Heliface-series toolholders accepting the HFPR 3015 insert style. Compatible with turning applications on stainless steel (ISO M) and steel (ISO P) workpieces. Material grades C5 and C6 apply.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Always index or replace inserts with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked. Seat the insert fully into the pocket and confirm the clamping screw is torqued per the toolholder manufacturer's specification before resuming cuts. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new edge to prevent insert rocking and premature failure.
