The ISCAR 6171334 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT style, designed for right-hand turning operations in CNC and conventional lathe applications. Manufactured under the Isoturn series, it carries an IC520N grade with a PVD-applied TiCN/TiN multilayer coating that improves wear resistance and extends tool life in steel and stainless steel cutting. The insert measures 9.70 mm in length and 9.52 mm inscribed circle diameter, with a 3.97 mm thickness and a 0.20 mm corner radius. An 80-degree diamond shape and the FFA chip breaker geometry are optimized for light to medium finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for turning operations on ISO material groups P (unalloyed and low-alloy steels) and M (stainless steels) in both production and job-shop environments. The CCMT insert style is common in positive-rake toolholders across light finishing and semi-finishing applications. The FFA chip breaker is intended for shallow depths of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 2.00 mm, making it appropriate for precision turning passes where surface finish and dimensional control are critical. This insert conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert securely without cracking the carbide substrate. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut specification for this insert geometry, as overloading a finishing insert can cause premature edge failure or insert fracture.
