The ISCAR 6099524 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert from the PentaCut series, designed for high-precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 1.19 mm cutting width (0.0469 inches) and a neutral lead angle with left-hand orientation, making it suitable for controlled, repeatable cuts. The IC908 grade carbide substrate is applied with a PVD coating for extended tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. A 0.10 mm corner radius (0.0039 inches) minimizes stress concentration at the cut edge. The NF chipbreaker geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in demanding grooving and parting applications.
This insert is rated for universal workpiece material compatibility, covering ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S. It is appropriate for use in both production and job-shop turning environments where consistent groove width and clean parting faces are required. The PentaCut insert system is a multi-use platform, allowing the same toolholder to accept inserts for various grooving and parting tasks. Typical applications include shallow grooving, deep parting, and precision profile grooving on ferrous and non-ferrous stock.
Designed for use with ISCAR PentaCut series toolholders accepting the PENTA 24N insert style. Compatible with ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S workpiece materials. Refer to the ISCAR PentaCut toolholder selection guide to confirm correct holder pairing before ordering.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with indexable insert systems. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Ensure the insert pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw to avoid insert damage or premature failure.
