The ISCAR 6099077 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the DGN3102LFT designation within ISCAR's Do-Grip series, this double-ended insert delivers a 3.10 mm cutting width and a 0.20 mm corner radius. The IC908 grade combines a submicron carbide substrate with a PVD coating, making it suitable for a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and non-ferrous metals. The FT chipbreaker geometry promotes reliable chip control during deep grooving and parting cuts. Both ends of the insert are usable, extending service life per insert.
This insert is intended for grooving and parting applications in both production and job-shop turning environments. The neutral hand and neutral lead angle make it adaptable to a wide range of toolholder orientations. With a maximum depth of cut of 18.00 mm, it handles medium to deep grooving passes. The universal primary workpiece material rating covers ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S, making it a versatile choice for shops running mixed-material jobs. It is installed using a clamp-style insert holding method compatible with Do-Grip series toolholders.
Designed for use with Do-Grip series clamp-style grooving and parting toolholders that accept DGN-style inserts with a 3102 size code. Suitable for grooving and parting operations across ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S as specified by ISCAR.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state. Use the correct ISCAR Do-Grip clamping tool or torx key to seat and secure the insert without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's setup instructions for proper insert orientation and overhang to avoid chatter and premature edge failure.
