The ISCAR 6011437 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert in the Tang-Grip series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the IC808 manufacturer grade with a PVD coating for extended tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert features a 4 mm cutting width, a 4-degree right-hand lead angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.24 mm corner radius. The J chipbreaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation during parting cuts. Installation uses a clamp-style holding method compatible with Tang-Grip toolholders.
This insert is suited for parting and cutoff applications in both production and job-shop turning environments. The IC808 grade with PVD coating is rated for universal workpiece material compatibility, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, H, and S. Typical applications include bar-fed CNC turning where consistent cutoff quality and insert repeatability are required. It is a single-use, non-multi-use insert intended for dedicated parting operations.
Designed for use with ISCAR Tang-Grip series toolholders that accept TAGR style inserts with a size code 4. Compatible across ISO material groups P15-P30, M, K, H, and S workpiece classifications per ISO 13399.
Cutoff and parting inserts are installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct Tang-Grip clamping tool to seat the insert fully before torquing the clamp; an improperly seated insert can fracture under parting loads. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for clamp tightening sequence.
