The ISCAR 5605865 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation LNET 083004-TN-N in manufacturer grade IC910. This butterfly-shaped, single-sided insert features a neutral hand orientation, a negative rake angle of 20 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The AlTiN coating is applied via PVD process, delivering thermal resistance suited to high-speed interrupted cuts in steel and cast iron. The insert measures 0.331 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.270 inches in thickness, with a corner radius of 0.016 inches (1/64 inch). A licensed machinist or toolroom technician installs this insert using a screw-clamping method in compatible milling toolholders.
This insert is designed for slot milling and similar operations in ferrous workpiece materials, specifically steel and cast iron (ISO material codes P and K). The TN chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation at moderate-to-aggressive feeds. It delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.331 inches and an effective cutting edge length of 0.331 inches. The four cutting edges per insert allow for index use before replacement, making it a practical choice for production milling environments. This insert is part of the ISCAR TANGSLOT series and fits cutter series ETS-LN08 and FDN-LN08.
Designed for use in ISCAR TANGSLOT series milling cutters, specifically compatible with cutter series ETS-LN08 and FDN-LN08. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. ANSI code: LNET 083004-TN-N IC910. ISO code: LNET 083004-TN-N.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw — do not overtighten or use impact tools on insert screws. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before loading a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
