The ISCAR 5600749 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation ADMT 1505PDR-HS IC250, designed for high-feed and productive milling of steel and stainless steel. It belongs to ISCAR's HELISHRED series and features a parallelogram insert shape with an 85-degree included angle, positive rake geometry, and a honed cutting edge style. The IC250 grade is finished with a PVD-applied TiCN plus TiN coating, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert measures 0.624 inches in length, 0.378 inches in inscribed circle diameter, and 0.233 inches in thickness, with a 1/32-inch corner radius. It is held in the cutter body by screw-clamping and is intended for installation by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC milling operations.
This insert is suited for milling applications on steel (ISO material code P) and stainless steel (ISO material code M) in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. It is part of the HELISHRED series, compatible with ADK-series cutter bodies. The HS chip breaker geometry supports efficient chip evacuation at higher feed rates. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.472 inches (12.00 mm), and the cutting edge effective length is 0.551 inches. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and ramping operations on workpieces in general machining and precision manufacturing environments.
Designed for use with ADK-series cutter bodies in the ISCAR HELISHRED milling system. Insert style is ADMT with size code 1505, compatible with toolholders specifying ADMT 1505 geometry. Verify cutter body pocket specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw; do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert body. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
