The ISCAR 5505910 is a CPMT-style indexable turning insert designed for general-purpose external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It carries the IC907 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN and Titanium Nitride coating for wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a positive rake geometry, and a PF chip breaker that supports controlled chip formation across a range of workpiece materials. Insert length is 0.248 inches (6.30 mm), inscribed circle diameter is 0.25 inches, and insert thickness is 0.0938 inches. This insert is installed and changed by CNC machinists and turning specialists in production and job-shop environments.
The 5505910 is suited for turning applications across a broad workpiece material range, including carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels, cast irons, non-ferrous metals, and heat-resistant superalloys, corresponding to ISO material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The PF chip breaker geometry is appropriate for light-to-medium depth-of-cut passes, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.0980 inches. It fits screw-held toolholders using the CPMT insert style. This insert is sold individually and requires a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed to fit CPMT-style screw-held turning toolholders. Compatible with material grades C1, C2, C6, and C7. Suitable for workpiece materials coded H, K, M, N, P, and S per ISO classification. Part of the ISCAR Isoturn series.
Insert replacement is performed by CNC machinists or qualified tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to avoid seat damage or insert fracture. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
