The ISCAR 5505376 is a CNMG 432-NR solid carbide turning insert in the Isoturn series, designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Coated with TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process, it delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across a broad range of workpiece materials. The IC907 grade targets demanding cutting conditions where toughness and edge integrity are critical. At 0.5079 inches in length with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 0.0315 inch corner radius, this insert fits standard CNMG toolholders and is suited for moderate to heavy stock removal by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is rated for universal workpiece material applications, with primary material codes H, M, and S — covering hardened steels, stainless steels, and superalloys. The NR chip breaker geometry supports consistent chip control during turning passes. A maximum depth of cut of 0.1969 inches (5.00 mm) makes it appropriate for medium roughing and semi-finishing operations. It is installed using clamp and pin holding methods in compatible CNMG-style toolholders and is well-suited for both high-production turning cells and general-purpose turning work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for CNMG 432 toolholders accepting clamp and pin holding methods. Compatible material grades C7 and C8 per standard insert classification.
Installation of turning inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert without cracking the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket and chip seat for debris or damage before seating a new insert. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines when changing cutting inserts at the turret or toolpost.
