The ISCAR 5504919 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill designed for high-productivity hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. Manufactured to the IDI-SG series standard, this tip features a 140-degree included angle with a thinned point geometry that reduces entry thrust and improves centering. The TiAlN coating is applied via PVD process, providing thermal resistance and extended wear life in abrasive cutting environments. At 0.547 inches cutting diameter and 0.137 inches functional length, the tip is engineered for precision fitment into compatible IDI-SG series bodies. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians working in production or job-shop environments are the primary installers.
This replaceable tip is suited for drilling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H. The slow spiral flute geometry and web-thinned point make it effective for general-purpose drilling where consistent hole quality and chip evacuation are priorities. It seats into IDI-SG series insert seat size 13 drill bodies using a twist-lock holding method, making tip changes fast without removing the body from the spindle.
Designed for use with ISCAR IDI-SG series replaceable tip drill bodies accepting insert seat size 13, ISO number IDI 139-SG. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO codes P, M, K, S, H). Coolant-through is not supported by this tip.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the drill body and tip interface surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip. Follow the tool body manufacturer torque specifications for the twist-lock clamping mechanism. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material grade being machined.
