The ISCAR 5504825 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMG 432-PP configuration, manufactured in the IC907 grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN multilayer coating. The insert features an 80-degree trigon (W) shape with a 0 degree relief angle (clearance code N) and a PP chip breaker geometry. It measures 8.7 mm (0.3425 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch (0.0315 inch) corner radius. Tolerance code is M. Licensed HVAC, metalworking, and production turning professionals install these inserts in compatible toolholders for precision external and internal turning operations.
This insert is suited for turning operations across a broad range of workpiece materials, including hardened materials (H), stainless and heat-resistant alloys (M and S), as well as ISO material groups K, N, and P. The Isoturn series design supports positive rake cutting geometry, making it appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes in both light and moderate stock-removal applications. It is used in CNC lathes and turning centers in production shop and job-shop environments where consistent chip control and tool life are required.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for WNMG 432-PP toolholders that accept clamp and pin holding methods. Compatible with toolholder systems conforming to ISO 13399 standards. Material grade designations C7 and C8 apply. Confirm toolholder seat geometry and clamping method before installation.
Turning insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Shut down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten or use impact tools on clamping hardware. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert edge.
