The ISCAR 5503811 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the DNMG 432-PP geometry, part of the Isoturn series. It features a 55-degree diamond insert shape with a positive rake angle and a neutral clearance code (N), making it well-suited for a wide range of turning and boring operations. The inscribed circle measures 1/2 inch (0.500 inches), the corner radius is 1/32 inch (0.031 inches), and the insert length is 0.610 inches (15.49 mm). The PP chip breaker designation supports controlled chip formation across varying depths of cut up to 0.157 inches (4.00 mm). Holding is accomplished via clamp and pin. This insert is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC or manual turning centers.
The ISCAR 5503811 is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. This makes it applicable across a broad range of materials including steels, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and heat-resistant alloys. In addition to external turning operations, this insert is approved for boring applications, expanding its versatility on the lathe. The Isoturn series is designed for consistent performance in both roughing and finishing passes when paired with an appropriate compatible toolholder for DNMG geometry inserts.
Designed for use in DNMG-style toolholders that accept a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick diamond insert with clamp and pin holding. Compatible across ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by the manufacturer for the Isoturn series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured in the turret before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct clamping hardware specified for DNMG geometry to achieve proper seating and prevent insert rocking. Inspect the insert pocket and locating pin for debris or damage before each insert change.
