The ISCAR 4818345 is an indexable drill insert designed for use in indexable drilling systems where consistent, repeatable performance across a range of workpiece materials is required. This insert carries the NPMT insert style with the RG chipbreaker geometry and is manufactured from carbide substrate with an IC908 grade designation. The PVD-applied TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and surface hardness suited to general-purpose and demanding drilling applications. At 10 mm in length and 6.5 mm in width, the insert fits toolholders specified for the 06 insert size code within the FINEBEAM series. Installation is performed by toolroom machinists and CNC operators.
This insert is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S. That range spans hardened steels, cast irons, stainless and general steels, and superalloys, making the 4818345 a versatile choice for shops running mixed-material production. The FINEBEAM series is engineered for indexable drilling operations requiring close dimensional control. Compliance with ISO 13399 tooling data standards simplifies integration into CAM and tool management systems. This insert ships individually but must be ordered in multiples of 10.
Designed for use in ISCAR FINEBEAM series indexable drill bodies accepting NPMT style inserts at the 06 insert size code. Compatible workpiece materials include ISO groups H, K, M, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
This insert is seated and clamped by a CNC machinist or toolroom technician following the torque and seating procedures specified in the ISCAR FINEBEAM toolholder documentation. Ensure the drill body pocket and clamping screw are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Power down the machine spindle and engage the axis lock before performing any insert change. Do not mix insert grades or chipbreaker styles within a multi-insert drill body unless explicitly permitted by the toolholder specification.
