The ISCAR 4504612 is a shrink-fit tool holder adapter designed for CNC machining centers requiring precise, high-rigidity tooling connections. Featuring a CAT40 taper shank, this adapter accepts cutting tools with a 0.25 inch bore diameter and delivers a 4.63 inch projection length. The nose diameter measures 0.433 inches with a clamping depth of 0.95 inches. Built for demanding production environments, the 4504612 supports balanced operation up to 25,000 RPM and includes through-coolant capability to maintain cutting temperatures and extend tool life during high-speed operations. Machinists and tool crib personnel working on precision milling and boring applications rely on this type of holder for consistent, repeatable runout performance.
This adapter is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers equipped with CAT40 spindle interfaces. It is a practical choice for shops running high-speed finishing passes or tight-tolerance boring operations where spindle balance and coolant delivery at the cutting edge are required. The through-coolant feature makes it particularly well-suited for deep-pocket milling or drilling where flood coolant cannot reach the cutting zone effectively.
Designed as an OEM-style shrink-fit tool holder adapter for CAT40 spindle machining centers accepting 0.25 inch shank cutting tools with through-coolant capability.
Shrink-fit tool holders require an induction heating unit to expand the bore before tool insertion and must be allowed to cool fully before use. Power down and de-energize the machining center before any tooling changes at the spindle. Follow the machine tool builder guidelines and applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures during installation. Do not attempt to seat or remove cutting tools from a shrink-fit holder without proper induction equipment, as cold-pressing can damage the bore geometry.
