The ISCAR 4502101 is a shell mill holder designed for CNC machining centers using an HSK63 taper shank interface. It accepts a 0.75 inch pilot diameter and features a 1.77 inch nose diameter, providing a rigid connection between the spindle and shell mill cutter. The holder supports through-spindle coolant delivery, directing coolant directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life. It is balanced to 15,000 RPM, making it suitable for high-speed face milling and surfacing operations. Machinists and CNC setup technicians install this holder in production and job shop environments where repeatable tooling setups are required.
This shell mill holder is used in horizontal and vertical machining centers equipped with HSK63 spindle interfaces. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and high-feed milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The through-spindle coolant capability makes it well-suited for operations where flood coolant alone is insufficient for heat management or chip control. The 0.669 inch projection from flange to nose end supports compact setups where spindle clearance is limited.
Designed for use in machining centers with HSK63 spindle interfaces that support through-spindle coolant. Compatible with shell mill cutters using a 0.75 inch pilot bore.
Installation and removal of HSK tooling should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate HSK clamping tool and torque wrench as specified by the machine manufacturer — do not use improvised methods to seat or unseat the holder. Verify through-coolant passages are clear and that the machine coolant system is compatible before use. Inspect the HSK taper and holder bore for contamination or damage before each setup.
