The ISCAR 4500624 is a taper shank tapping chuck designed for tension and compression tapping operations on CNC machining centers and milling machines. Built around the ER32 collet system, it accepts collets with a capacity of 0.25 inches and delivers a projection of 0.787 inches from the gauge line. The nose diameter measures 0.866 inches. This chuck is intended for shops and machinists requiring reliable axial float during tapping cycles to protect taps from breakage caused by feed-rate mismatch. It does not include through-coolant or quick-change capability.
This tapping chuck is suited for production and job-shop environments where taper shank toolholders are the standard interface. The ER32 collet series is widely used in tap holding applications across a range of tap sizes. The tension and compression tapping style accommodates slight overfeeds and underfeeds during the tapping cycle, making it appropriate for machines without rigid tapping capability. Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians as part of standard toolholder setup.
Designed for use with ER32 tap collets in taper shank spindle interfaces on CNC machining centers and milling machines that accept this modular connection type.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for taper shank seating and drawbar torque. Verify collet condition and tap shank size before assembly to ensure proper grip and runout.
