The ISCAR 4500566 is a shrink-fit tool holder adapter designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed milling applications. It features an ER32 taper shank and accepts a 0.312-inch hole diameter, making it compatible with a range of shrink-fit tooling setups. The adapter includes through-coolant capability, allowing coolant to be delivered directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life. With a projection of 2.5 inches and a nose diameter of 0.82 inches, this adapter provides rigid, low-runout tool holding suited for precision machining operations. Installation and setup are performed by machinists and tooling technicians.
This adapter is intended for use in machining environments where shrink-fit tool holding is the preferred method, particularly in high-speed spindle applications requiring minimal runout and maximum rigidity. The ER32 taper shank configuration fits standard ER32-compatible spindle interfaces. The through-coolant feature supports wet machining operations where directed coolant flow is required at the cutting edge. Typical applications include milling, drilling, and boring on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers in both job shop and production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style shrink-fit adapter for use with ER32 taper shank spindle interfaces on CNC machining centers requiring a 0.312-inch shrink-fit bore.
Installation of shrink-fit tool holders requires an induction heating unit to expand the bore before inserting the cutting tool — never attempt to press or hammer tools into a shrink-fit bore. Ensure the spindle and machine are fully powered down and the spindle has cooled before removing or installing the adapter. Verify taper contact and drawbar engagement per the machine tool manufacturer specifications before returning the spindle to service. Through-coolant connections should be inspected for proper sealing before operation.
