The ISCAR 3800094 is an external, right-hand indexable threading toolholder designed for precision thread-cutting operations on lathes and turning centers. Built in the IscarThread series, it features a square shank measuring 0.4724 x 0.4724 inches (12.00 x 12.00 mm) and an overall length of 3.1496 inches (80.00 mm). The insert is secured by a screw-clamp holding method, providing reliable clamping force during threading passes. This toolholder does not include through-coolant or an external coolant port. It is intended for use by machining professionals, toolroom technicians, and CNC lathe operators who require a dependable, indexable solution for external threading applications.
This toolholder is suited for external threading operations on lathes and CNC turning machines in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. The SE-style holder accommodates a wide range of ER and ER/L insert profiles, making it adaptable to multiple thread forms and standards within a single toolholder platform. The back-of-bar to cutting edge distance is 0.6299 inches (16.00 mm), which determines clearance and tool positioning relative to the workpiece centerline.
Compatible with ER and ER/L series inserts across the following thread forms: ER to BUT, ER to EL, ER to MJ, ER to NPTF, ER to PG, ER/L to 55, ER/L to 60, ER/L to ABUT, ER/L to ACME, ER/L to API, ER/L to API RD, ER/L to BSPT, ER/L to ISO, ER/L to NPT, ER/L to RND, ER/L to SAGE, ER/L to STACME, ER/L to TR, ER/L to UN, ER/L to UNJ, and ER/L to E profiles. Part of the ISCAR IscarThread series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing or indexing inserts. Seat the shank fully in the toolpost or turret block and torque the clamping screws using the insert wrench supplied with the insert, following the machine tool manufacturer torque guidelines. Verify tool centerline height and cutting edge alignment before beginning a threading pass.
