The ISCAR 3602008 is a solid carbide indexable boring bar in the Isoturn MG-SWUC series, designed for internal boring and turning operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. The bar accepts WCGT 0201 series trigon inserts secured by a screw-clamp holding method, providing rigid, repeatable cutting geometry. With a minimum bore diameter of 8.8 mm (0.3465 inches) and a shank diameter of 8 mm, this tool is built for tight-bore, high-precision applications. A 12-degree positive rake angle reduces cutting forces, and coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding materials. The overall length is 75.7 mm (2.98 inches). Installed by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This boring bar is suited for small-diameter internal turning and boring in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 93-degree lead angle geometry and right-hand cut orientation make it appropriate for facing toward the spindle in standard lathe setups. The MG-SWUC toolholder style is part of the ISCAR Isoturn line, commonly used on gang-tool lathes, Swiss-style machines, and small-bore CNC turning centers where shank space is limited. The screw-clamp insert retention keeps the WCGT 0201 insert positively located during interrupted cuts and high-feed passes. Coolant-through capability allows directed coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, which is valuable when working in deep bores or with difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use with WCGT 0201 series trigon inserts. Compatible insert size code is 0201. Part of the ISCAR Isoturn MG-SWUC toolholder series.
Installation and insert changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Torque the insert-clamping screw according to the insert manufacturer specifications printed on the insert packaging or tooling documentation — do not estimate. Verify shank-to-bore fit and clamp pressure before running. Confirm coolant-through passages are clear and the coolant supply is connected before engaging the cutting cycle.
