The ISCAR 3601276 is a right-hand indexable boring bar designed for internal turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built to Isoturn series specifications, it accepts WB.. 520L trigon inserts held by screw or clamp and delivers consistent performance on small-bore applications. The steel shank measures 0.375 inches in diameter with an overall length of 4 inches, allowing reach into bores as small as 0.276 inches at depths up to 0.937 inches. Negative radial and neutral axial rake geometry suits general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous internal turning. This tool is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The 3601276 targets small-bore internal turning where minimal bore diameter clearance is critical. With a center-to-cutting-edge measurement of 0.14 inches, it maintains precise geometry in tight bore profiles. The 3/8-inch shank is compatible with standard boring bar holders and quick-change tooling systems designed for that shank diameter. Typical applications include finish boring of hydraulic components, valve bodies, and precision-machined housings where bore diameter tolerance and surface finish are tightly controlled. This is a single-use, non-modular tool intended for dedicated boring setups.
Designed to accept WB.. 520L compatible inserts in a trigon shape. Insert size code 520L. Compatible with standard boring bar holders accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter. Part of the ISCAR Isoturn series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the turret de-energized before mounting or indexing inserts. Confirm the shank is properly seated and clamped to the specified holder torque per the machine tool manufacturer guidelines before initiating a cut. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 0.937 inches, as overhang beyond design limits increases deflection and risk of insert fracture.
