The ISCAR 3601084 is a neutral-hand indexable turning toolholder from the Isoturn series, designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. The holder features a 0-degree neutral rake angle and a 72.5-degree lead angle, making it well-suited for general-purpose turning where balanced cutting forces and versatility across materials are required. The 1 x 1 inch square shank provides rigid, consistent positioning in standard tool blocks and turrets. Insert retention is handled by a screw-clamp method, which delivers firm, repeatable seating. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians will find this holder a standard workhorse for production and job-shop turning setups.
The ISCAR 3601084 is intended for use in turning centers and engine lathes equipped with standard 1-inch square shank toolholding stations. Its neutral cutting direction means it can be oriented to cut in either direction depending on setup requirements. The 1.5-inch head length and 0.5-inch back-of-bar to cutting edge measurement allow it to fit a wide range of turret and quick-change post configurations. This holder is a practical choice for shops running high-mix production or maintenance turning work where a single, dependable neutral-hand holder handles multiple jobs.
Accepts VCM..33.. series inserts; compatible insert size code VCMT330-SM. Designed as a standard OEM-style turning toolholder for use in CNC lathes and engine lathes with 1-inch square shank toolholding stations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Before changing inserts or mounting the holder, confirm the machine spindle is stopped, the turret is indexed to a safe position, and all motion is locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the shank fully in the toolpost or turret pocket and verify tool height alignment before running. Use the correct torque wrench and screw driver for insert clamping screws — do not over-tighten, as this can damage the insert pocket seat.
