The ISCAR 3600891 is a left-hand SDJC-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built to the Isoturn series standard, it features a 0.5 inches x 0.5 inches shank with an overall length of 3.5 inches and a head length of 0.78 inches. The holder accepts DC..3 series inserts secured via screw clamping and operates at a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees. Machining professionals and CNC setup technicians install this toolholder in turning centers and engine lathes where left-hand cutting direction is required. It is manufactured to ISO 13399 standards for tool data representation.
This toolholder suits left-hand turning applications in production and job shop environments. The SDJC style is used for longitudinal turning and profiling where the cutting direction runs from right to left on the workpiece. The 0.78 inch head length and a back-of-bar to cutting edge distance of 0.63 inches allow for close-tolerance positioning in standard tool blocks and quick-change tool posts. It is a single-purpose holder with no coolant-through capability, making it appropriate for flood-coolant or dry-cutting setups where internal coolant delivery is not required.
Designed to accept DC..3 series inserts, with a compatible insert size code of DCGT3-0-SM. This holder is intended for use in turning applications requiring a left-hand SDJC-style holder with a 0.5 inches x 0.5 inches shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down or E-stop the machine and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before changing or adjusting toolholders. Seat the insert fully before tightening the clamping screw to the insert manufacturer's recommended procedure. Verify tool offset and cutting edge height after installation before returning the machine to cycle.
