The ISCAR 3600809 is a right-hand A-MCLN indexable boring bar designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built from steel with a 1-1/4 inch shank diameter and a 12 inch overall length, it reaches a maximum bore depth of 5 inches while maintaining a minimum bore diameter of 1.53 inches. The bar uses a clamp-style insert holding method and accepts CN.. 43.. series inserts with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle. Through-coolant capability supports chip evacuation and tool life during deep-bore passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this bar in precision turning centers where consistent bore geometry and insert indexability are priorities.
This boring bar is suited for production and job-shop environments running internal diameter turning and boring on steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. The -5 degree lead angle and -12 degree rake angle are optimized for finish and semi-finish cuts. The Isoturn series designation indicates compatibility with ISCAR's Isoturn tooling platform. Both diamond and triangle insert cartridge configurations are supported, with a minimum bore diameter of 1.53 inches for triangle inserts and 1.5313 inches for diamond inserts. Through-coolant delivery is standard on this bar, making it appropriate for deep-cavity applications where flood coolant alone is insufficient.
Designed for use with CN.. 43.. series indexable inserts compatible with the A-MCLN toolholder style. Accepts both diamond and triangle insert geometries within the 43 size code. Cross-reference manufacturer number S-MCLNR 20-4.
This boring bar is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or changing inserts. Secure the shank fully within the boring bar holder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth to minimize overhang deflection. Follow the machine tool builder guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and running the first pass.
