The ISCAR 3600808 is a right-hand A-MCLN indexable boring bar designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts CN.. 43.. series inserts in a diamond shape with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, held in place by a clamp-style insert retention system. The bar has a 1-inch shank diameter, a 12-inch overall length, and supports a minimum bore diameter of 1-13/32 inches with a maximum bore depth of 4 inches. A through-coolant channel delivers cutting fluid directly to the insert tip, supporting tool life and chip evacuation in deep-bore applications. The negative rake geometry and -5 degree lead angle are suited to stable, productive metal removal in steel and similar workpiece materials.
This boring bar is intended for shop environments where internal diameter finishing and semi-finishing are performed on lathes equipped with coolant-through tooling capability. The 12-inch OAL provides reach for moderate-depth bores while the 1-inch shank keeps the bar compatible with standard static or live tool holders used in production turning. It is part of ISCAR's Isoturn series and is cataloged under the A-MCLNR/L 16-4 designation. The bar is appropriate for job shop and production machine shops running steel and similar materials where consistent insert indexing and coolant delivery are required.
Accepts CN.. 43.. series diamond inserts with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and compatible insert size code 43. Insert holding method is clamp-style. This bar is part of the ISCAR Isoturn series and is referenced under manufacturer designation A-MCLNR/L 16-4.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all axes are at a safe home position before mounting or indexing the bar. The shank must be clamped securely in a boring bar holder sized for a 1-inch diameter shank with adequate projection to reach the required bore depth. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and that the machine's coolant-through spindle pressure is within the tool system's operating range before beginning a cut.
