The ISCAR 3600592 is an indexable turning toolholder in the MTJNR 12-3 style, designed for right-hand cutting direction on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It accepts TN-style negative-rake inserts secured by a clamp and pin holding method, providing rigid, repeatable insert location under continuous cutting loads. The shank measures 0.75 x 0.75 inches, the overall length is 4.5 inches, and the head length is 1.0 inch. A negative 5-degree rake angle is built into the pocket geometry. This holder is part of ISCAR Isoturn series and conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards. Machinists and CNC toolroom technicians are the primary installers.
This toolholder is suited for external longitudinal and facing turning operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. The right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with conventional lathe setups where the tool feeds from the tailstock toward the headstock. The compatible insert size code is TNMG331-F3P, and the holder accepts the broader TN..3.. insert family. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant delivery must be used when flood or mist cooling is required.
Designed for use with TN..3.. series negative-rake turning inserts; the specifically referenced compatible insert size code from the input data is TNMG331-F3P. Fits standard 0.75 x 0.75 inch square-shank tool blocks and turrets on CNC and manual lathes equipped for external turning operations.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Confirm the turret or tool block accepts a 0.75 x 0.75 inch square shank before mounting. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or changing the toolholder. Torque the clamp screw to the tool manufacturer's specification for the insert style in use, and verify insert seating and cutting-edge orientation before resuming cuts.
