The ISCAR 3600271 is a right-hand indexable turning toolholder in the MCKN style, designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Part of the Isoturn series, it features a negative rake angle of -5 degrees and a 75-degree lead angle, providing stable cutting geometry for medium to heavy-duty turning. The toolholder accepts CN..43.. series inserts secured by a clamp and pin holding method, delivering reliable insert retention under aggressive cutting conditions. The 1 inch by 1 inch square shank and 6 inch overall length make it a standard-fit option for a wide range of machine tool turrets.
This toolholder is suited for production turning environments where consistent insert indexing and repeatable tool positioning are required. It is designed for right-hand cutting direction, making it appropriate for standard OD turning passes on lathes equipped with turret or gang tooling setups. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, or maintenance machining applications will find this a direct-fit replacement or new-setup toolholder. It does not support coolant-through delivery and is intended as a single-application turning tool rather than a multi-use holder.
Designed to accept CN..43.. series inserts, with a compatible insert size code of CNMG431-GN. Fits machine tool turrets accommodating a 1 inch x 1 inch square shank. Verify turret pocket dimensions and insert seat specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is de-energized before mounting or removing the toolholder. Confirm shank seating depth and turret clamping force meet machine tool manufacturer specifications. Insert indexing should follow insert manufacturer guidelines for torque on the clamping screw.
