The ISCAR 3411468 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for demanding holemaking and drilling applications in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 140-degree split point, a 2-flute spiral configuration with regular spiral type, and an AlTiCrSiN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and hard materials. The straight cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. Coolant-through design channels cutting fluid directly to the tip, reducing heat buildup and improving chip evacuation. This drill is installed and used by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working on precision drilling operations.
The 3411468 is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO workpiece material groups P, M, K, and H. It belongs to ISCAR Series SCD with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, providing a maximum drilling depth of 2.305 inches. Its web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust requirements at entry and improves centering accuracy. Typical applications include production drilling on CNC machining centers and manual drill presses where consistent hole quality in tough materials is required.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material groups P, M, K, and H). Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders. Part of ISCAR Series SCD jobber-length drill offerings.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine at a full stop and all power locked out per applicable safety procedures. Secure the straight shank fully within the collet or chuck to the recommended grip depth before tightening. Verify coolant-through supply is active and at adequate pressure before initiating the cut. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit when edge condition degrades to avoid workpiece damage.
