The ISCAR 3401073 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Part of the ECI-4-VF series, this single-end, centercutting tool features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration and extends tool life at the cutting edge. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness suited to dry or minimum-quantity lubrication cutting. With a right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation, the 4-flute spiral geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians working on production mills and machining centers.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The extended reach design and long length type make it suitable for deeper cavity work, shoulder milling, and profiling operations where standard-reach tools cannot access the workpiece geometry. The Weldon flat shank with h6 tolerance ensures secure clamping in compatible Weldon-style toolholders. Variable index geometry helps reduce harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. It is well suited for job shop and production environments requiring a single tool capable of handling both roughing and finishing on difficult workpiece materials.
Designed for use with Weldon-style toolholders. Compatible with standard 1/2 inch bore milling toolholders. Manufacturers catalog number ECI-4 500-2.0W015VF4 may be used for cross-reference with ISCAR tooling systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Insert the Weldon flat shank fully into the toolholder bore and tighten the set screw against the flat to the toolholder manufacturer specifications to prevent pullout under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to confirm proper clamping before beginning a cutting operation.
