The ISCAR 3399247 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. Built on the ECAI-B3-EC series, it features a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) PVD coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. With an overall length of 3 inches and an extended reach design, this end mill suits setups where tool projection is a factor. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in precision metalworking environments.
This end mill is engineered primarily for non-ferrous metals, including aluminum alloys and similar materials. The short flute length of 0.875 inches keeps deflection low during aggressive cuts, while the 1.375 inch reach length accommodates deeper setups without requiring a specialty holder. The straight cylindrical shank (0.5 inch diameter) fits standard end mill toolholders. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. The coarse pitch and submicron carbide substrate make it well suited for high-feed, high-speed CNC milling programs targeting surface finish and dimensional accuracy in the same operation.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque for the shank diameter.
