The ISCAR 3398643 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Part of the ECI-5-VF series, it carries a 3/4 inch cutting diameter across 5 flutes with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut and a 5 inch overall length. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating delivers high heat and wear resistance, making this tool suitable for both roughing and finishing operations. A variable index design reduces chatter and improves surface finish. The submicron carbide grade adds toughness at the cutting edge, extending tool life in challenging workpiece materials.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines where extended reach is required. The 3 inch reach length allows access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. The straight-cylindrical shank at 3/4 inch diameter with h6 tolerance provides consistent, accurate seating in standard toolholders. It is suited for shops running production work on P, M, K, S, and H material classes, including aerospace alloys and hardened steels. A right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting geometry are standard. The tool is single-end and centercutting is not specified for this configuration, so plunge routing should be avoided unless confirmed for the application.
Designed for use with standard milling toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. ISCAR catalog reference ECI-5 .75-1.25/3.CVF5 identifies this tool within the ECI-5-VF series. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P, M, K, S, and H: carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended gauge length before tightening to prevent pullout under load. Confirm the toolholder bore tolerance is compatible with the h6 shank before seating. Do not use this tool for plunge milling without first verifying centercutting capability for the intended operation, as centercutting is not confirmed for this configuration.
