The ISCAR 3398536 is a single-end, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/2-inch cutting diameter and 5-flute geometry, it delivers a strong balance of material removal rate and surface finish quality. The 38-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A TiAlCN coating extends tool life by improving heat resistance and reducing surface friction at the cutting edge. This tool is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills by machinists and tooling professionals working in production or job-shop settings.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations in steels, stainless alloys, and hardened materials where tool longevity and edge retention are priorities. The variable index geometry helps suppress chatter during aggressive cuts, making it a reliable choice for tight-tolerance work in both production runs and prototype machining. The 2-1/2-inch length of cut accommodates moderate-depth passes without sacrificing rigidity. A 1/2-inch straight shank ensures broad compatibility with standard collet and end mill holder systems.
Designed as a replacement-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 1/2-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems used in CNC and manual milling applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following established toolroom procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Confirm the holder bore and collet are clean and free of chips or runout before seating the shank. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and ANSI B11 safety guidelines for end mill installation, clamping torque, and speed-and-feed parameters appropriate to the workpiece material.
