The ISCAR 3398445 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Part of the ECI-5-VF series, it features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and five flutes with a variable index geometry that reduces harmonics and chatter during aggressive cuts. The cutting length is 4.125 inches, and the overall length is 7 inches, making it an extra-long reach tool suited for deep-cavity and extended-reach applications. A PVD-applied AlTiCrSiN coating provides thermal and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The shank diameter is 1 inch with an h6 tolerance for precise toolholder fitment.
This end mill is rated for roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The extra-long reach and 4.125 inch length of cut make it appropriate for mold and die work, deep pocket machining, and aerospace component production where standard-length tools cannot reach. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers with appropriate toolholders. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. The spiral flute geometry and normal pitch are optimized for chip evacuation across the listed workpiece materials.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical toolholders accepting a 1 inch straight shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. ISCAR catalog reference: ECI-5 1.-4.13C.06VF7.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a compatible toolholder to the appropriate pull-out force specification per the toolholder manufacturer. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before commencing cuts. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material being machined.
