The ISCAR 3398371 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Part of the ECI-5-VF series, it features a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) mill diameter, five flutes, and a 0.0150 inch corner radius for reduced edge chipping and improved surface finish. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness for extended tool life in aggressive cuts. With a variable index geometry and medium-length flute design, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing passes. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool setters in production and job shop environments.
This end mill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 1 inch length of cut (0.8750 inch actual), 1 inch reach length, and 3 inch overall length make it a capable option for medium-depth pocketing, profiling, and contour work. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance mounts directly into standard collet chucks and shrink-fit holders. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups.
Compatible with standard toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines running steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H) per ISO material classification.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock engaged before inserting or removing the end mill. Verify holder bore size matches the 3/8 inch shank diameter and that the shank is clean and free of debris before seating. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material grade being cut.
