The ISCAR 3398275 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling operations in a wide range of metalworking and machining applications. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide and coated with TiAlCN, it delivers excellent wear resistance and heat tolerance during aggressive cuts. The 5/16-inch diameter, 4-flute configuration provides a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality. With a 38-degree right-hand spiral helix and variable index design, this end mill reduces chatter and improves cut stability. It is a single-end tool with centercutting capability, making it suitable for plunge, slot, profile, and contour milling operations. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is well suited for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials where a TiAlCN coating provides a performance advantage. The 1-5/8-inch length of cut accommodates moderate-depth passes, while the 4-inch overall length allows reach into typical workpiece features without requiring extended-reach tooling. It is appropriate for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where a 5/16-inch shank is accepted by the collet or tool holder. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation on most production and job-shop machines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-production square end mill for use in any machine tool accepting a 5/16-inch shank collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an e-stop state before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the appropriate collet depth per the tool holder manufacturer guidelines, and verify tool runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts. Consult applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool manuals when setting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut.
