The ISCAR 3347725 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the Tang-Grip self-gripping series, this single-end insert features a 3.00mm (0.118 inch) cutting width with a neutral lead angle and a 0.40mm (0.0157 inch) corner radius. It carries a TiAlN/AlTiN/TiN PVD coating applied under the IC830 manufacturer grade, optimized for cutting superalloys and other demanding workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals installing this insert will find it suited for tight-tolerance groove work where consistent width and reliable clamping are critical.
This insert is intended for grooving and parting applications across a range of workpiece materials, with the primary designation targeting superalloys (ISO material codes M, P, and S). The HF chipbreaker geometry is engineered for controlled chip formation in these materials. The Tang-Grip self-grip holding method provides secure seating in compatible Tang-Grip toolholders without additional clamping hardware, making tool changes straightforward on the shop floor. Typical installations include OD grooving and full parting cuts on production turning equipment.
Designed for use in Tang-Grip series toolholders compatible with TAG-style inserts. Verify toolholder pocket specifications against the 3mm insert size code before installation. Conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedures applied before accessing the turret or toolholder. Seat the insert fully into the Tang-Grip pocket until the self-grip mechanism engages; do not force the insert with excessive lateral pressure. Inspect the insert seat and toolholder pocket for chips or debris before each insert change to maintain accurate seating and prevent premature edge failure.
