The ISCAR 3346719 is a solid carbide turning insert in the Isoturn series, designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. This uncoated CNGG331-F3N-P insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a positive rake geometry and the F3N-P chip breaker, which promotes efficient chip control across a broad range of workpiece materials. The inscribed circle measures 9.52 mm (0.375 inches), insert length is 9.70 mm (0.382 inches), and insert thickness is 0.187 inches. The 0.40 mm (0.0157 inch) corner radius makes it suitable for medium to finishing cuts. Solid carbide construction without coating provides dimensional stability and edge consistency for demanding applications.
This insert is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering ISO material groups H, K, M, N, and S. These groups span cast irons, non-ferrous alloys, steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature superalloys. The Isoturn series is commonly applied in production turning environments where consistent chip formation and insert-to-insert repeatability are required. Maximum depth of cut is 3.00 mm (0.118 inches), placing this insert in light-to-medium roughing and finishing cut ranges. It is used by machinists and tooling specialists in job shops, aerospace, and general precision machining environments.
Designed for use in ISCAR Isoturn series toolholders accepting CNGG-style inserts with a CXMG insert style designation. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO groups H, K, M, N, and S as designated in the product specifications.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping specifications for the specific holder in use. Power down the machine and engage the spindle lock before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installation, as contamination will affect insert positioning and edge life. Handle solid carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges prior to use.
