The ISCAR 3336664 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LOGIQ4FEED series, designed for high-feed face milling operations. Carrying the ANSI/ISO designation FFX4 XNMU 040310HP with grade IC882, this double-sided insert features a PVD-applied multilayer coating — AlTiN, TiAlSiN, and TiSiN — engineered for thermal resistance and edge durability under aggressive cutting conditions. With 4 usable cutting edges, a negative rake geometry, and a honed cutting edge style, the insert is optimized for material removal in demanding applications. Thickness measures 6.00 mm (0.1563 inches) and width measures 7.16 mm (0.2820 inches). The screw-hold clamping method ensures secure, repeatable seating in compatible FFX4 cutter bodies.
This insert is intended for machining stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — ISO material groups M and S. The HP chip breaker geometry and maximum depth of cut of 0.90 mm (0.0315 inches) make it well-suited for light, high-feed passes on difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. Typical installation scenarios include CNC milling centers performing face, shoulder, or contour operations on aerospace, medical, and energy-sector components where surface integrity and tool life are critical priorities. The right-hand insert hand designation should be matched to the cutter body orientation before installation.
Designed for use with FFX4 series cutter bodies. Insert size code 040310 with right-hand orientation; verify cutter body designation and pocket configuration before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the specified torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the tool manufacturer's specification — do not over-tighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
