The ISCAR 3336661 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LOGIQ4FEED series, designed for high-feed face milling operations. It carries ANSI and ISO 13399 designations FFX4 XNMU 040310HP IC5820 and fits directly into FFX4 cutter bodies. The insert features an Al2O3 coating applied via MTCVD, a double-sided design with four cutting edges, and a negative rake geometry. It measures 7.16 mm wide and 3.95 mm thick, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.90 mm. The IC5820 grade targets demanding materials including stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-change technicians are the primary installers of this insert type.
This insert is suited for high-feed milling in both roughing and semi-finishing passes on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Its bone-shaped XNMU style, 1.00 mm corner radius, and HP chip breaker geometry support controlled chip evacuation at aggressive feed rates. The right-hand cutting direction and screw-holding method are standard for FFX4 cutter body configurations. Applications span precision machining shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and oil-and-gas part production where difficult-to-machine alloys are common.
Designed for use with FFX4 series cutter bodies as specified by the ANSI designation FFX4 XNMU 040310HP IC5820. Compatible with LOGIQ4FEED system toolholders that accept the XNMU 040310 insert size and screw-holding method.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout-tagout procedures. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body specification — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before mounting. Confirm insert orientation matches the right-hand cutting direction required by the cutter body before resuming operation.
