The ISCAR 3336036 is a CXMG 12T508-M3M solid carbide turning insert from the Logiq4turn series, coated with a TiAlN/TiN finish applied via PVD process. It features a diamond insert shape with an 80-degree included angle, a 0.8mm (0.0315 inch) corner radius, and a positive rake geometry. The insert measures 5.79mm (0.228 inch) thick and 13.80mm (0.541 inch) in length. Designed for double-end use, it delivers consistent cutting performance across a wide range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tool setters working in production turning applications are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is suited for general-purpose and universal turning applications covering multiple workpiece material categories, including steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), hardened materials (H), and superalloys (S) as indicated by its ISO material codes. The M3M chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium turning passes. Maximum depth of cut is 5.00mm (0.197 inch), making it appropriate for both finishing and moderate roughing operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers in job shop and production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for toolholders accepting CXMG 12T508 geometry inserts within the ISCAR Logiq4turn series. Verify toolholder pocket geometry, clamping style, and insert seat dimensions before installation.
Turning insert replacement is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before changing inserts, power down and lock out the machine per your facility lockout/tagout procedure and allow the spindle and workpiece to come to a complete stop. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified seating hardware when securing the insert in the pocket — do not overtighten with improvised tools. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
