The ISCAR 3334952 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the PentaCut series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the PENTA24N050PF IC30N designation, indicating a neutral-hand orientation, a 0.50 mm cutting width, and a 0.05 mm corner radius. The IC30N grade is an uncoated bright-finish carbide suited for demanding workpiece materials. Machining technicians and toolroom professionals install this insert into compatible PentaCut grooving toolholders as a replaceable cutting element, making it a cost-effective component in high-precision turning setups where tight groove tolerances are required.
This insert is rated for use on hard materials, stainless steel, and carbon and alloy steels, covering ISO material codes H, M, and P. It delivers a maximum depth of cut of 2.50 mm and is classified within the 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm maximum depth-of-cut range. The positive rake angle of 7 degrees and PF chip breaker geometry make it well suited for finishing passes and light-to-medium grooving operations where chip control and surface finish are critical. It is appropriate for both production and job-shop turning environments.
Designed for use with ISCAR PentaCut series grooving toolholders that accept PENTA 24N050 style inserts. Compatible primary workpiece materials include hard materials, stainless steel, and steel (ISO codes H, M, and P). Verify toolholder seat and clamping compatibility before installation.
This insert is installed and replaced by a machinist or CNC turning technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating any insert. Use the appropriate ISCAR torx or clamping key specified for the PentaCut toolholder to secure the insert — do not overtighten by hand or with non-specified tools. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping mechanism for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
