The ISCAR 3323472 is a solid carbide milling insert in the FFQ4 SOMT 1205RM-T geometry, grade IC808, designed for high-feed face milling operations. It features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, four cutting edges, and a T-Land cutting edge style with a positive rake for clean chip formation. The IC808 grade uses a submicron carbide substrate with a multilayer PVD coating — TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN — making it well suited for demanding cutting conditions in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians select this insert for high-feed milling cutter bodies in the MILL4FEED series.

This insert is intended for the FFQ4 cutter series in high-feed milling applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The RM chip breaker geometry and 25-degree relief angle support stable cutting at aggressive feed rates with a maximum depth of cut of 0.0590 inches. It is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes in production and job-shop environments. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard screw-clamped tooling seats in the FFQ4 platform.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the cutter body is fully removed from the spindle and the machine is locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer specification — do not over-torque or cross-thread the seating screw. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure full, flat contact.
