It carries a multi-layer PVD coating combining TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN under ISCAR's proprietary SumoTec surface treatment, which promotes edge toughness and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The insert features a 1.6 mm (0.0630 inch) corner radius, an insert thickness of 13.40 mm (0.528 inch), and an insert length of 15.00 mm (0.591 inch). It conforms to ISO 13399 standards and is classified under ANSI and ISO insert code LNMX. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in compatible toolholders for finishing and medium machining passes.
The 3314630 is suited for turning applications on steel (P), stainless steel (M), special and super alloys (S), and hardened materials (H). The HT chip breaker geometry supports both finishing and medium machining operations, providing effective chip control across these material groups. A maximum depth of cut of 8.00 mm (0.315 inch) covers a broad range of turning passes. This insert is intended for use in production turning environments, including CNC lathes and turning centers where consistent surface finish and tool life are priorities.
