The ISCAR 3313112 is a solid carbide milling insert with ANSI designation HM390 TDKT 150504PDR IC830, designed for use in the HELI3MILL series (HM390-15) cutter bodies. It carries an IC830 grade with an AlTiN and TiN PVD coating, placing it in ISCAR's Sumotec PVD coating classification. The triangular TDKT insert style provides three cutting edges and features a positive rake geometry with a helical cutting edge style. The chip breaker designation is PDR. Maximum depth of cut is 13.00 mm (0.5120 inches). Thickness is 5.77 mm (0.2390 inches). The insert is right-hand oriented and is held in the cutter body by a screw-type clamping method. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10.
This insert is engineered primarily for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, and S. It is suited for milling operations in manufacturing environments where interrupted cuts, difficult-to-machine alloys, or high-productivity roughing and semi-finishing passes are required. The HM390-15 cutter series compatibility makes it a direct replacement insert for that tool body family. The PDR chip breaker geometry is optimized for positive-rake cutting on the materials listed above. Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician on a compatible HM390-series milling cutter body.
Designed for use with ISCAR HM390-15 series milling cutter bodies. ANSI code: HM390 TDKT 150504PDR IC830. ISO code: HM390 TDKT 150504PDR. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine spindle locked and all power isolated before handling the cutter body. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer to seat the screw-clamp mechanism. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Do not mix insert grades or chip breaker styles within a single cutter body unless confirmed compatible by the tooling manufacturer.
