The ISCAR 3310521 is a replaceable-tip drill body from the SumoCham series, engineered for precision holemaking in metalworking applications. It accepts ICP-style interchangeable cutting-tip inserts at insert seat size 5, allowing quick tip changes without removing the body from the spindle. The drill body features a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 6 mm in diameter and delivers a maximum drill depth of 24.9 mm at a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Overall length is 71.3 mm. Through-coolant capability is built in, directing cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life. This body is designed for right-hand cutting and conforms to ISO 13399 tooling data standards.
The ISCAR 3310521 is suited for production drilling operations in machining centers and CNC turning centers where repeatable hole geometry and fast insert indexing are priorities. It covers a drill diameter range of 5 mm to 5.4 mm, accommodating compatible ICP tip inserts of varying diameters within that range. The DCN toolholder style and straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and hydraulic tool holders common in job shop and production environments. Through-coolant delivery makes it particularly effective in deep-hole, tight-tolerance, or difficult-to-machine material applications.
Compatible with ICP-style replaceable cutting-tip inserts at insert seat size 5, within the SumoCham product series. Designed for use with standard collet chucks or hydraulic holders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and insert changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a powered-down, locked-out state. Ensure the shank seating surface and collet bore are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and ISCAR tooling guidelines for clamping torque and runout verification before initiating a cut. Coolant supply lines should be confirmed active and at appropriate pressure before drilling to prevent premature tip wear.
