The ISCAR 3309413 is a solid carbide milling insert in the HELI6FEED series, designed for high-feed milling operations in demanding material applications. Carrying the ANSI/ISO designation H600 WXCU 05T312HP with grade IC882, this double-sided trigon insert features six cutting edges and a sharp cutting edge style with negative rake geometry. The PVD-applied multilayer coating — AlTiN, TiAlSiN, and TiSiN — delivers thermal and wear resistance suited to high-speed, high-feed passes. The HP chip breaker geometry is engineered to manage chip flow in difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. Licensed machinists, tooling engineers, and CNC setup technicians working in production or job-shop environments will find this insert applicable across a wide range of spindle platforms.
This insert is rated for primary use in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — material groups classified as ISO M and ISO S — making it appropriate for aerospace, medical, and oil-and-gas component machining. The insert mounts via screw holding in compatible HELI6FEED cutter bodies from the FWX and EWX cutter series. Right-hand cutting orientation applies. The insert size code is 05T312, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.2165 inches and an effective cutting edge length of 0.2165 inches, supporting aggressive axial engagement without compromising edge integrity in interrupted or continuous cuts on tough alloys.
Designed for use in ISCAR HELI6FEED cutter bodies within the FWX and EWX series. Compatible cutter series designations confirmed in product data: FWX and EWX.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before seating or replacing inserts, ensure the spindle is fully stopped, the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state, and the cutter body pocket is clean and free of chips or debris. Use the correct torque wrench and screw size specified by the cutter body manufacturer — do not over-torque the clamping screw, as this can damage the insert seat or screw threads. Inspect the pocket seating surface for wear before installing a fresh insert.
